Formula 1 creates a official championship of virtual racing

eSports grow so inevitable and each time there are more events associated with the world of virtual racing with real life championships. After the initiative recently launched by McLaren in which the winner will be a driver of development in the simulator of the Formula 1 team for a year, now the category launches official way of a championship SimRacing.

The championship will be held from September, following the presentation of the F1 2017 Codemasters for XBox and PlayStation, simulator that will provide a platform for an event organized by Formula 1, Codemasters and Gfinity.

For his part, Frank Saigner, Chief Executive of Codemasters, said that “eSports are one of the sectors with the fastest growth which is already attracting audiences of tens of millions. We are delighted to announce this competition incredible with the Formula 1 for our game F1 2017”.

This initiative joins others with a significant impact such as the Nissan GT Academy in collaboration with Gran Turismo, the ePrix virtual Formula E held in Las Vegas with a million dollar prize to the winner or the World’s Fastest Gamer which currently organizes the McLaren.
