I’ve seen cops on bicycle, motor boating, horseback, Segway, and vehicles of various kinds. But what happens when police patrols are to combine such different areas as road, the countryside and the ocean? To solve that problem, and provide greater mobility to their agents, San Francisco police would be testing its first quad amphibians . It is a vehicle halfway between the quad and watercraft, which in seconds can be adapted to move through the water or on land.
Apparently it would be a Quadski (Gizmodo) as used by Top Gear at the challenge of years ago, which pitted Jeremy Clarkson, plowing a lake in her quad amphibious, with Richard Hammond, in an Alfa Romeo 4C. This vehicle would be able to reach 70 km / h, both on road and on water . And for less than € 30,000 you do not do one. Therefore it is an expensive toy. Although according SFist San Francisco taxpayers have not paid a vehicle that has given them one of their suppliers.
Sounds like fun, does not it?
