Nicolas Lapierre will play a second season with the team Signatech Alpine with the firm objective of to defend his title in the LMP2 of the Endurance World. The frenchman, who was key in achieving the title for her great work in terms of development and for being the pilot with greater experience that served as a guide for the ‘rookies’ Stéphane Richelmi and Gustavo Menezes, has been shown to have a strong motivation to continue in a project that will allow you to pilot one of the two Oreca 07 with engine Gibson, the team hopes to align under its own nomenclature.
With all Lapierre will not be able to defend his title in LMP2 next to the above-mentioned Richelmi and Menezes, every time that this last has been promoted to pilot Gold, which makes it incompatible with the presence of both in the same prototype. Even so, it is expected that Signatech Alpine come to keep on the payroll to its three champions, but in two alignments separated. While Lapierre will be the spearhead of the prototype with the colors of Signatech Alpine, it is quite likely that Gustavo Menezes figue between the pilots of the team Jackie Chan, DC Racing, the team that already operated with the second prototype of the Alpine in the WEC in 2016.
in Addition to their continuity in the Signatech Alpine, it is likely that Nicolas Lapierre also compete in the ELMS and take part in the 24 Hours of Daytona, in a year very complete and full of great objectives: “I Am very happy to continue my career with Signatech Alpine. Before 2016 I already had good memories with Philippe Sinault and his team, but now we have added a great chapter in our history. We will work tirelessly to face the challenges that the new LMP2 proposed. I’m proud to compete on behalf of Alpine in an intense year and I can’t wait to start working”.
