Lynk&Co want to re-define the concept of ownership of the car

In the next few years we’re going to live a revolution in terms of the driving and the way of understanding it. Autonomous cars will be in charge of making us forget how the world was the engine up to our days and of entering fully into a new world. The major car manufacturers are working to make that a reality in a matter of a short time and the fruit of this work will be born, new brands like Lynk&Co that will bring a new air to this pillow.

For those who don’t remember (or don’t know) Lynk&Co is the firm that will launch market-makers Geely and Volvo. These three manufacturers belong to the same industrial group, led by Geely (acquired Volvo a few years ago to Ford). This new brand brings together the know-how of Volvo in terms of manufacturing quality, technology and safety and the enormous economic potential and of sales who can provide you with Geely in China.

As we already informed you, the first model released to the market is the SUV 01 and delight us with a set of technological elements that for if they wanted to, many of the models that are sold in Europe or the US. However the item that will different this model the rest of their rivals is the new way in which they want to sell it. The brand wants to distribute their models through direct sale, that is to say, that the customer who wants to buy a car of this brand does not need to go to a dealer to buy it.

According to Alain Visser, head of sales and marketing from Lynk&Co, the way to carry out this process will be based on the new technologies (Internet) and direct contact between the brand and the customer. Thanks to this system of sale profit margins will be larger as they do not have intermediaries do not need to be split. In addition, thanks to the total control of the sales channel, the brand image will be better cared for at the same time that the of customer loyalty will be higher.

The idea that the brand has is made the first deliveries in the third quarter of 2017 in China and mid 2018 in Europe and the united States. We’ll see if with this model of sale will not happens in more than one country the same thing that Tesla Motors, since the distribution of certain products is heavily regulated and there could be a hurdle to save.
