The other day I had that the Gigafactoría that Tesla is building in Nevada, united States of America, going at a very good pace, and when you open its doors it can provide batteries for the firm’s Silicon Valley may put on the market all of the Model S, X and 3 I want. This mega factory will give employment to thousands of people and is placed as one of the most modern world for many years.
however, Tesla and its founder, Elon Musk, are a box of surprises, and today we learned that the japanese manufacturer of batteries and electronic components, Panasonic, are interested in investing for to build a new plant to manufacture electrical components. The reason for this construction could be caused because Tesla and Panasonic are already working on issues such as the design and manufacturing of the batteries that they need their cars to walk.
As reported by both companies Panasonic I would be interested in invest more than $ 256 million along with Tesla to manufacture photovoltaic cells (PV) modules and to transform the electricity obtained by this method into usable energy. With this investment both firms would extend the agreement of collaboration that already have assets, and that such good results is giving them.
The place who would have thought to build it it would be the city of Buffalo, in New York. However, it is not yet decided what will be its location in a definitive way. What we do know is that with this new collaboration agreement, Tesla has committed with the japanese firm long-term buy batteries. In turn, Tesla has committed itself with Panasonic to help to provide infrastructure for research in addition to aid in logistical aspects.
This agreement should materialize in the mid of the next year 2017 and when they are at peak performance they should be getting a gigawatt of production for the year 2019.
