Nürburgring, Le Mans and Spa-Francorchamps are in some way the three circuits cradle of the resistance european, although among the different citations that are contested throughout the year in these three scenarios there are other proofs of great interest. One of them is the 1000 kilometers of Paul Rircard, fifth round of the Blancpain GT Series and third of the so-called ‘Endurance Cup’. A test that will earn in addition to charisma edition after edition shares with the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, a feature that makes it special. Part of the same dispute in the overnight hours.
The Blancpain GT Series turn to the path of 5.781 metres of Paul Ricard, or what is the same, the variant with the straight Mistral full from ‘L’ecole’ to ‘Signs’, without the use of the chicane intermediate for example used by the pilots of the fia WTCC. With this configuration, the riders were faced with a line of more than 1.5 kilometers, which certainly will test the various GT3 present in the 1,000 kilometres of the Paul Ricard. In this aspect, a total of 57 vehicles will be taking part of a quote in which the leadership of the category is in game.
Maximilian Buhk and Dominik Baumann arrive as leaders absolutes of the Blancpain GT Series at Paul Ricard after the couple more regular both in the sprint as in the resistance test. In fact, Buhk, Baumann and Jazeman Jaafar are at the front of the classification of the ‘Endurance Cup’, so without doubt are the rivals to beat in the 1,000 kilometres of the Paul Ricard. However, the competition will be hard and the McLaren 650S GT3 of Rob Bell, Like Ledogar and Shane Van Gisbergen will also be one of the protagonists in the French circuit.
As is customary in the Blancpain GT, the variety of cars and favorites is very wide. The Audi R8 LMS of Team WRT are always tough opponents on any type of circuit, although perhaps at Paul Ricard larger vehicles such as the Bentley Continental or the BMW M6 they are more likely to be at the height of the best. In this aspect, up to four will be the BMW M6 GT3 on the track, a number in any case discrete in comparison to the number of participants who choose compete with the new Ferrari 488 GT3. In this aspect, up to four units put on the track AF Corse.
And among this large variety of drivers, cars and favorite, again the Spanish army is present. Andy Soucek competes with the Bentley Continental GT3 #8 M-Sport, while Albert Costa again to jump on the Jaguar, Emil Frey. After getting lost for the first time the 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2010, Lucas Ordoñez you will have the opportunity to compete with one of the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3. Miguel Toril and Antonio Garcia complete the list of Spanish riders competing this last with an Audi R8 LMS alongside Will Stevens and René Rast, forming a trio of riders was indeed in The Sarthe.
