300 HP hybrid power for the new Citroën C5 Aircross

The Citroën C5 Aircross is already official after their passage through the Room of the Car of Shanghai. The SUV hybrid of the French brand is the Citroën of most powerful production of all time.

Lfter some early leaked images, finally, the PSA Group has presented in Salon Automobile de Shanghai the new Citroën C5 Aircross, an SUV hybrid for the C-segment, which initially will be only available in the chinese market and that the next year will arrive in other international markets.

The new Citroën C5 Aircross uses a mechanical hybrid that still have not been given many details, but we know that it is a propulsion system that until now had not been used by any of the models in the group.

this Is a mechanical hybrid plug-in, formed by a petrol engine and two electric motors, one about each axis, , achieving a combined output of 300 HP. This plug-in hybrid will have in addition of an autonomous mode 100% electric in the order of 60 kilometres.

The powerplant is combined with a system of four wheel drive, an evolution of the Hybrid4 system PSA had used in their models until now.

For the chinese market will also be available two petrol engines with 165 and 200 HP, in both cases combined with an automatic change of six speeds. The new C5 Aircross debuts in addition to a hydraulic suspension progressive that replaces the shocks and springs are conventional with two hydraulic, which ensures a comfortable ride unique.

The envelope may include a system of information and entertainment with touch screen of twelve inches, wireless charging for smart phones, control declines, warning of lane departure, pedestrian detection, emergency braking, anti-adaptive cruise, etc

The new Citroën C5 Aircross will hit the chinese market in October, while its arrival in Europe is scheduled for the middle of next year.
