A crossover based on the Volkswagen Golf will appear at the Geneva motor show

Volkswagen T-Roc Conceptlast week we knew the update half-cycle of the Volkswagen Golf. It seems that the next target of the German giant after the compact is a crossover based on the Golf, and lower than the Volkswagen Tiguan, which will be submitted during the next Geneva motor show, in march of 2017.

Autocar reports that this crossover is supposedly based on the Volkswagen Golf, will be closely related to the Volkswagen T-Roc that we saw in the form of concept for 2014. In fact, they claim that even use the name T-Roc for this model. Will not be identical, beginning because that concept used a body of only three doors, while Volkswagen will not dare to launch a crossover with only one door on each side.

Volkswagen T-Roc ConceptFor its part, if it is true that Volkswagen plans to launch this model, its design will be based on the well-known modular platform MQB and will have dimensions close to 4.2 meters long, 1,83 wide and 1.5 tall, with a wheelbase of close to and 2.64 meters. To take as the basis of the restyling of the Volkswagen Golf, it is likely that the design of the interior and the optional ones are identical to those of the compact, highlighting the possibility of installing a screen of 9.2 inch with gestural control in the center console.

With the range mechanics happens exactly the same. The most normal would be to use the same thrusters that the compact of the house. For the moment, we have only known the 1.5 TSI EVO, with a variant BlueMotion 131 hp and another 150 hp. Later it is possible to reach a TSI smaller and about 105 hp, in addition to the diesel TDI that are are doing to pray in the Volkswagen Golf. There will be changes both manual and automatic, and also variants of front-wheel drive and other traction integral.
