last Saturday, the sporting Italian brand Abarth had organized an interesting meeting for the fans of the cars of the scorpion in Arches, in the Circuit of Navarra. The expectations of the event were high and it is that, in addition to gathering hundreds of customers with their vehicles Abarth, could also assist fans to the engine that they did not have in possession any model of the company. The environment and the possibility of taking a brief contact with the recently presented Abarth 595 and Abarth 124 Spider they made us walk half a peninsula to enjoy the Abarth Day.
it Was the first great event of the Abarth organized by the brand in Spain and, in addition, is developed in four points of Europe (Spain, Germany, Italy and the Uk). In total there were six activities: two laps on a twisty and fun circuit type “Micky Mouse” between cones with the Abarth 595, two laps of the full circuit of Navarra to the commanders of the Abarth 595 Competizione, also two laps of the circuit although in this case with the Abarth 124 Spider as the protagonist, visit to an area reserved as a a museum with some jewelry of brand, sample kits of preparations for Abarth and a time free with entry to the track with personal vehicles.

For us the most interesting ones were the first three phases of the event, although the owners of Abarth insurance who chose the last, as they drove with their own cars for half an hour at the Circuit of Navarra. Abarth 595 Competizione

The section that most liked was the one of the brakes. Despite the fatigue that they could carry after several hours of rolling strong in circuit, showed a great efficacy and seemed to be able to stop the car in a few meters, although we were not able to perform any kind of measurement. The pedal feel is smooth and progressive and it is not very attended, what allows to dose, and adjust very well the braking to enter the turn at optimal speed.
In general, the feeling is that the Abarth 124 Spider is not as radical as we had hoped. The fact of not having the possibility to try it with your manual change and the emergence of inclination in the body, they made us get off of him with a taste different than expected. In my point of view, the tare should be more hard since this is a model of Abarth, even if it involves partially reduce the quality of rolling on strong broken and the comfort in an urban use.
luckily, the Italian company is a brand that has a many kits preparations post, in which Polish those details 124 will be relatively simple.
