ABT has just presented its latest creation: the new Audi TT RS-R Roadster. Although the convertible German is pretty radical in and of itself, this trainer adds to the modifications more extreme than it has done in its history. Thanks to this is able to leave behind even an Audi R8.
The first of the amendments that you receive this TT, it is the reprogramming of your engine the 2.5-litre petrol. Its 400 HP and 480 Nm of maximum torque is converted to 500 HP and 570 Nm. In spite of this great increase of power in a aluminum engine, the director of ABT, Hans-Jurgen, declared during the presentation: “whenever we reach the maximum in terms of engine performance, but never beyond what is technically reasonable. Therefore, there is no risk neither for the car nor for our customers.”
Improved performance of the Audi TT RS-R Roadster
With these 100 HP extra on the Audi TT RS-R Roadster significantly improves their performance. It takes only 3,4 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h from a standing start, which is 0.5 seconds less than the version of the factory convertible and 0.3 seconds faster than the Coupe. But what is surprising really this improvement, is that it becomes in a car faster than the Audi R8. Of course, we’re not talking about the R8 V10 Plus with 610 HP, but the version of 540 HP, which even though is not as powerful, it is still a sport that costs more than double that of the TT RS.
Only sold 50 units of the Audi TT RS-R Roadster, and all of them will receive the same the package of modifications: springs and stabilizer bars sport on both axes, spoilers front, skirts and rear bumper, redesigned, light-alloy wheels of 20 inches in matte black color and a modified frame for the grill. In the interior, both the dashboard as the sides of the seats have a coating of carbon fiber.
ABT offers the same preparation for the Audi TT RS-R Coupe (you can see in the gallery below), a model presented at the Geneva motor show, 2017. Also allows for the purchase of each of the components separately: reprogramming, modification, suspension, tires, and aesthetic components.
