The objective of this test was to install a ramp at the front of the Porsche Macan Turbo to work as the springboard and the skier, Torge Nagel, to rise between 3.5 and 4 metres, making it “FlatSpin 360 Japan Grab”. The most difficult part was to adjust the speed of the skier and car, as, if it is increased, the height that you could take the experienced skier would be very high.
The track features a tilt of 20 degrees and a length of 300 meters. A skier with little experience can descend that slope without problems, but 20 degrees of inclination, and a floor, snow-covered is not the terrain most favorable for a car, if we take into account that the meaning of the Porsche Macan Turbo was ascending.
The Porsche Macan Turbo has a good system of distribution of traction, however, on a slope of 20 degrees with a large layer of snow, the traction system integral would not be able to raise the SUV of Porsche up the hill. This ascent can only be carried out with three methods: with chains on the wheels, with wheels of spikes or with a few effective winter tires.
In this spot, obviously, have opted for the third option; and the truth is that the result is surprising. The evolution of this type of tires in the last few years has been very positive, and it is that five years ago it was difficult to imagine that a car won so much traction in these poor conditions of adherence of the soil.
