The body and frame get aluminum in your practice full.

The sports firm French has revealed a few images taken in the own factory of Dieppe, where there will be the production of the sports AS1, in which we can see the body and various panels of the model, made of aluminum.

The image of the body shows us only the rear area of the model, from the passenger compartment and the rear post back, but a second picture shows us the panels for the wheel arches on the rear, even without trying, and showing the metallic look naked of the aluminum.

Alpine had already confirmed that the new AS1 production would be manufactured in this lightweight material, but until now, we had not been able to see a unit of the production model final, which will be presented this march at the Geneva motor show.

Sketch of the production version.

At the beginning of the month of December, the brand opened the book of reservations for the model its debut on the market with a limited edition called Première Édition. Of which will only be made 1.955 units, a figure that commemorates the birth of the firm, in the year 1955.

These 1.955 units will be the first to be manufactured and will come onto the market at the end of this year, in the month of November. These units will only be available in three colors; black, white, and blue.

The sport will feature a 4-cylinder engine supercharged 1.8-liter installed in a central position. This block derived from the 1.6-liter turbo that can be found in the Renault Clio RS. Their figures have not been declared, however, are expected to have between 250 and 300 horses, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in around 4.5 sec.

The Alpine AS1 will be manufactured mostly in aluminum.

When you arrive at the market will have a price around 55,000 and 60,000 euros, which makes him the ideal candidate to compete against the Porsche 718 Cayman, the model most similar approach in the market. After the AS1, the French firm will launch a convertible version of the sports, and later would have planned a SUV model.
