The Norwegian -together with his inseparable co-driver Anders Jaeger – will at the wheel of the Citroen C3 WRC #9 Rally of Italy-Sardinia, next test round of the WRC. The pilot is Norwegian, which has been competing with Skoda Motorsport because of the impossibility of stepping in to a World Rally Car of new generation, has reached an agreement to compete with Citroën. By the time it comes to one-off collaboration, although it is not ruled out that the program of Mikkelsen grow throughout the season. The great sacrifice of this signing is Stéphane Lefebvre, which will not compete in Sardinia.
Andreas Mikkelsen has proved that the class WRC2 remains small. He won with great authority with the Skoda Fabia R5 in Monte carlo and Corsica. Andreas you can try out your new World Rally Car in a pre-test to the test.
After confirming the news, Yves Matton in the capacity of Director of Citroën Racing, said: “After the first six rounds, it seems that the results of Citroën, have fallen below the objectives set and Andreas Mikkelsen has been actively looking for a return to the premier class. We have reached an agreement to compete in Italy together and we are happy for this opportunity”. For his part, Andreas Mikkelsen stated: “I’m thrilled to join Citroën in Italy and I am delighted to be able to work with a team like this. The Citroën C3 WRC has shown to have potential and it seems to progress on a regular basis. For me the most important thing is to re-compete with a World Rally Car”.
