What you see is the new Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato, the fifth collaboration between the manufacturers of large cars british, and the iconic house of builders of Milan. The idea of this work is to build a sporty high-flying with the attractiveness of the new Aston Martin Vanquish, and the elegance of a Zagato. The result is obvious.
For the moment we’re looking at a prototype, which will be presented at the Concorso d’eleganza Villa d’este under the name Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato. In any case, is not daring to imagine that this sport could get to the street under the formula of the special limited edition.
This prototype has been designed and developed in close collaboration between the teams of Aston Martin in Gaydon, and the team of design of Zagato in Milan. The base, as we already told you, it is still the Aston Martin Vanquish. With the caveat that its engine generates maximum power of 6.0 liters and twelve cylinders in v -, has increased its power to 600 HP (the Aston Martin Vanquish delivers initially 565 BHP of power).
In a first look you will have seen that the cosmetic changes are important. The Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato retains a large front grille, but its dimensions have been increased in height, until they practically merge with the lower lip, and in width, so that it now hosts also a few headlamps for daytime lighting. There are also important changes in the front flippers, with a few gills even more marked that outline the lateral line.
The rear fins have also been widened, and add muscle. But the more detail that is characteristic, without a doubt, what we find in his roof design in the form of a visor, thanks to a pillar front black camouflaged among the moons side, and the bezel front. At the back we also find a design clean and uncluttered, and a detail is definite, the of their groups optical round. On the rear diffuser have also been installed two pairs of exhaust outlets, unlike the Aston Martin Vanquish series that has an exhaust exit on each side.
On the roof of this Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato also we find another detail typical of Zagato, one of those two bulges in the roof, by way of double bubble, which in its day made so much sense to optimize the height of the passenger compartment and facilitate the conduct of many sports with a helmet.
On board, beyond the use of new coverings, upholstery, very exotic, like the looks of the plot of skin with red seams of the roof, and the emblem Z of Zagato on the headrests, the design of this car is the one that we had already seen in the Aston Martin Vanquish serial.
Everything that you see, the entire bodywork of the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato, has been assembled in carbon fiber.
As I said, neither Aston Martin or Zagato, they give more details about it. In any case, our impression is that this Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato will see the light of the street coming in, at least, as a special edition limited to the access of some customers of the brand Gaydon.
