Audi R8 e-tron 2016, the natural at the Nürburgring

The new Audi R8 was introduced only a few months ago, in the Salon Geneva 2015. In fact, the second generation of the sporty Audi mid-engine, manufactured in, based in neckarsulm, is on sale now with prices ranging from 191.870 euros and V10 engine of 5.2 liters in two versions, with 540 HP or 610 HP.

We are talking about a traditional (though rather sophisticated) gasoline engine V10, which already formed part of the first generation of the model. But in his presentation he also announced a new version of the future, that since then it has not raised too many headlines: we refer to Audi R8 e-tron, one hundred percent electric.

While we expect its arrival to the market -which will take place in the next few months, the Audi R8 e-tron is left to see again, and makes him nothing less than that in Nürburgring, with its definitive design of production. In these spy photos, the R8 e-tron 2016 does not hide a computer in your dashboard, probably to mode of telemetry and data collection in the circuit germano for further analysis.

In the centre tunnel and behind their seats, replacing the combustion engine, you’ll find in this R8 e-tron with a large lithium batteries, which feed the 462 HP of its electric motor. With a weight of 1,840 kilograms, higher than the V10 because of the complexity of the electrical system, you will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, reaching the 250 km/h of maximum speed.

And the Audi R8 e-tron 2016 is not only highlighted by its features: their autonomy will reach up to 450 kilometers with a single electric charging, with fast charge function and charging into phases of deceleration. Its price will be considerably higher than that of any Audi R8 V10, but its technology of the future communicate: we hope to see you on the street within a very short time, at the end of the 2015 or begin the 2016.
