Toyota C-HR is currently the model most anticipated in the japanese firm. Is the new bet in the SUV segment and has just start your production in Turkey. As we already knew, the C-HR will be assembled at the plant of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey (TMMT) in Sakarya (Turkey). In this way it will become in the eighth model made in Europe, being the third hybrid after the Yaris Hybrid and Auris Hybrid.
Until today, TMMT produced the Toyota Corolla and Verso. The C-HR becomes its first hybrid and also the first model with platform TNGA manufactured outside of Japan. For its production has been increased by the template in 2,000 workers and have been invested some 350 million euros additional. Thanks to this, the total production capacity of the plant in Turkish will increase from 150,000 to the 280.000 units a year.
The Toyota C-HR will be exported from Turkey to all over the world. Currently TMMT exported around the 80% production to Europe, but also opens its borders to reach countries like the united States, Canada, Taiwan, Mauritius or south Africa. Although all the components of the SUV will not come from the same site. The new hybrid system that will comes from the engine plant of Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK) Deeside (Wales).
on the other hand Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland (TMMP) in Walbrzych (Poland), will provide the manual transmissions that will be the petrol versions from 1.2 litres. In 2018, this plant will start to produce also the transaxle hybrid which is now being made in Japan. The majority of components used are sourced from Europe, making clear the bet of Toyota in our continent. The first units of the Toyota C-HR will come to Spain to the end of the year/early 2017.
