Do you remember the BMW 3 0.0 CSL Hommage? BMW paid tribute to one of its most iconic racing cars of the past decades with a modern reinterpretation of it. A reinterpretation presented a few months ago in the Concours d’Elegance Vila d’Este on Lake Como, Italy. Now they take advantage of the Concours d’Elegance of Pebble Beach to display the BMW 3 0.0 CSL Hommage R . A tribute to the 40th anniversary of BMW in the US and the victory of BMW 3 0.0 CSL in the series IMSA in the United States, also 40 years ago.
One racing decoration for a 3.0 CSL special
is a much more graceful than the 3.0 machine CSL Hommage presented a few months ago in Italy.
If BMW 3 0.0 CSL Hommage was the road car, on BMW 3 0.0 CSL Hommage R is the racing car . A clear homage to BMW 3 0.0 CSL competition of IMSA Series, which replicates its decoration with great taste. I must admit I did not like the lines of 3.0 CSL Hommage. Perhaps it was his yellow – the consensus speaks as unsuitable – but fortunately, you can right the wrongs. This Hommage R is much more attractive, and the decor enhances their lines instead of putting them in evidence for its extremism.
BMW has done good things, and even the classic machine remains much more beautiful – is an opinion – this Hommage R satisfies the expectations. His golden matte 21-inch wheels bring modernity to a set that celebrates the victory of BMW with 3.0 CSL in IMSA Series of 1975. That is why in the front and rear sunshades can be read Bavarian Motor Works , in clear homage to the BMW of the past. Another clear nod to the competition is the “X” in the headlights, daytime and unfolding crossover function.

The aggressive body kit continues equipping carbon fiber elements and subtly varying the shape of the front air intakes and rear diffuser. It is the same car on steroids and more aggressive.
