Concorso d’eleganza Villa d’este, so they called the event, where the bavarian manufacturer has presented its new coupé, the renewed BMW 8 Series. The number 8 for BMW is the perfect blend of sportiness, luxury and elegance, as demonstrated in 1989 to the present the first of its series, the chassis E31.
BMW Series 8 E31 was built between the years 1989 and 1999 and was a two door coupe with engines of eight and twelve cylinders. In total were manufactured 30.621 units, and there was a prototype called M8 with a V12 engine of 6 liters, which produced 550 horsepower, which came to be called the “Ferrari Killer”. However, only reached the tag prototype.
The new coupe has a silhouette much more aggressive of what has been seen so far in the designs of BMW, with a calender chrome wider and accentuated in the current versions and headlights of LED type sharp lines, in addition to two large air inlets on both sides sufficient to cool the brakes.
On the side we can see a silhouette stylized and elongated, with a design that, quite frankly, very German, in addition to the huge wheels of 21 inches. In the rear we find a rear-mounted, we suppose, type OLED -like riding the BMW M4 GTS, the flagship of the bavarian manufacturer in the center, two exits from cooling to the wheels and brakes and other two outputs chrome exhaust.
interior is focused on sportiness and luxury. With a minimalist design, highlights a central console huge in which we find the lever of the switch machine and in the upper part, the media screen for the infotainment system. A renewed system, with a graphical interface modern, as can be seen in the video.
seats, designed in carbon fiber, follow the line of the interior. They are minimalist, luxurious, and at the same time, sports, the perfect definition of this new BMW 8 Series. For the moment this is just a prototype, but mark the base upon which BMW we will discover over the next year.
