BMW iPerformance, so are plug-in hybrids from BMW

BMW has unveiled its new range of vehicles plug-in hybrids, which is encompassed in the denomination BMW iPerformance. All of them turn to the technology BMW eDrive that bet for electrification to decrease the use and emissions of pollutants. BMW iPerformance represents the intermediate step between the models of BMW i and the cars with traditional combustion engine of the German mark.

there are Four models that will carry the flag iPerformance belonging to the Series 2, 3 and 7 in addition to the range X, pointing to different segments of the market. Three modes eDrive

The eDrive system has in three operation modes: AUTO eDrive, MAX eDrive and SAVE Battery. The three can be combined with the usual modes of the function Driving Experience Control (Sport, Comfort and Eco Pro) that modify the behavior of the car to affect the parameters of the steering, the transmission, the air conditioning and throttle response.

AUTO mode eDrive optimizes the performance of the combustion engine and the electric, allowing to reach a maximum speed of 80 km/h and driving 100% electric. The mode MAX eDrive allows the vehicle to drive only with the electric motor at speeds up to 125 km/h. The combustion motor only enters in operation by stepping on the accelerator to get the maximum acceleration possible. The mode SAVE Battery keeping the battery above the 50% load to take advantage of your energy later.

BMW 225xe Active Tourer

BMW 225xe Active Tourer uses a battery of lithium-ion high-voltage 7,7 kWh which is located under the rear seats, which is why the rear bench is 30 millimeters higher than the rest of versions of the mpv German. The trunk reduces its capacity to 400 litres, 68 less than the variants that employ only the combustion engine.

The hybrid system uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder that delivers 136 HP and an electric motor of 65 kW (88 HP). BMW X5 xDrive40e

BMW X5 xDrive40e was the first hybrid car electric plug-in series from BMW. The hybrid system delivery 313 CV on the whole, the result of its gasoline engine four-cylinder 2.0-liter with 245 HP and the electric motor integrated in the gearbox Steptronic eight marches, 83 kW (113 HP).

The lithium ion battery of the X5 has a storage capacity of 9,2 kWh. The system is located at the base of the trunk, which loses 150 liters of volume to provide 500 litres.
