The cotton test of the free placed Audi as
big favorite to the pole and reached the moment of truth, the R18 did not disappoint.
The combined work of André Lotterer and Marcel Fässler has delivered the pole to the
Audi R18 #7 in Austin in a classification with large revenues for the
brand from Ingolstadt since Audi #8 has completed its wake. A step by
behind, specifically seven-tenths, the Porsche 919 Hybrid of Bernhard,
Webber and Hartley has been third party. Aston Martin does not find a rival in GT and
takes the pole position in GTE-Pro and GTE-Am.
The two R18 and takeover the first row of the 6
Hours of COTA after a classification in which Lotterer and
Fässler have signed a combined time of 1:45.842 with the Audi #7. A tenth
slow has been the time marked by Jarvis and Di Grassi. Even so, the most
highlight of the classification is the great distance that has existed both with the
Porsche #1 -third party- as with the Toyota #6 -fourth-. Within the battle between
the LMP1 private, the logic has been imposed, and the Rebellion R-One has been imposed
nine-tenths of the prototype ByKolles.
The Signatech Alpine #36, leader of LMP2, has
signed his first pole of the year thanks to the 1:55.892 marked in their laps
joined by Nicolas Lapierre and Gustavo Menezes. The Alpine A460 has
tax by almost a second at the Manor #44 Roberto Mehri that, thanks to the
excellent back of the rider from castellón has been able to finish in second
position. Third, for its part, has been the Ligier JS P2 of RGR Sport, although the

consecutive of this car. 42 thousandths behind has located the Ferrari 488
GTE #71 Sam Bird and Davide Rigon, while the third has been the Ford GT #66
Olivier Pla and Stefan Mücke.
For his part, the Aston Martin #98 has joined the pole in
GTE-Am thanks to the combined time of the returns of Paul Dalla Lana and Pedro
Lamy. The record reached by both pilots has been 2:06.999, which has
served the team to overcome the three Porsche 911 RSR present on the grill
of the 6 Hours of COTA in a very clear way, with almost a second advantage
on its most immediate pursuer. The Ferrari F458 Italia of AF Corse and the Corvette
C7-Z06 close the grill with permission of the LMP2 G-Drive.
