Ricardo Gonzalez is facing the biggest challenge of his career. After not having opportunities in the OAK Racing and G-Drive Racing, the last two structures with which it has competed in the WEC, the mexican driver has decided to start his own team. The champion of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2013 in LMP2 and winner that same year of the World has created the structure RGR Sports by Morand, team that will compete in the World Endurance (WEC), again in the category LMP2. For the occasion will have Bruno Senna and Filipe Albuquerque.
Ricardo Gonzalez, Bruno Senna and Filipe Albuquerque will be competing with a Ligier JSP2 Nissan in LMP2, where they expect to be able to fight for the title light of the experience that you treasure all of them. The structure will be supported by the swiss team Morand, as its name indicates, so that the new team of Ricardo Gonzalez won’t have to suffer major problems of adaptation. This is precisely the reason that has led to Bruno Senna to join the project, the entire time that the brazilian has played the last three 24 Hours of Le Mans, two of them as a driver of Aston Martin.
Bruno Senna will make his debut in the LMP2 after competing with an LMP1 of Oreca and Aston Martin Vantage from the british firm in GTE-Pro. Despite this, the pilot south american is confident with this project promoted by the mexican González: “I Think this team has the potential to do great things. I have joined Gonzalez and Albuquerque because I think that we can fight for the championship. This car, the prototypes in general, are better suited to my riding style”. As is logical, Bruno Senna collated his new role in LMP2 with its presence in the Formula E.
