The last time that Carlos Sainz participated in the Baja Aragon was in 1988. By then he competed with a Ford RS200 with Carmelo Ezpeleta as co-pilot before embarking on his career in the WRC. Much has happened since the abandonment suffered by Sainz in that edition, but 28 years later, Carlos Sainz returns to the Low Aragon. The rider from madrid will play the test at the wheel of a Peugeot 2008 DKR16, being the only bet of the signature gala to put the brakes on the other three big names of the test, Nasser Al-Attiyah, Nani Roma and Mikko Hirvonen.
As is customary, Carlos Sainz will compete with Luke Cross at his right hand in the 2008 DKR16, in what will be a very important test for both since it will be the first test of competitive face to the Dakar 2017.
