Catalonia will go from 4,000 to more than 21,000 points of recharge for electric

Nissan LeafThe Generalit de Catalunya has announced the approval of a new strategic plan that will encourage the purchase of electric vehicles in the Catalan region. The project, which will begin this year and be completed in 2019, is designed to multiply by six the recharging points for electric vehicles in Catalonia. In total more than 21,000 charging stations that will facilitate the task to the drivers of this type of vehicle and will serve also to increase the presence of electric cars in the cities of this autonomous community.

The strategic Plan for the development of recharging infrastructure for electric vehicles (PIRVEC) is backed by a investment of about 5.8 billion euros. An amount that will serve to spend from 4,000 to 21.400 charging points. In this way, by multiplying almost by six stations dedicated to this service is expected to multiply the demand of electric cars, placing Catalonia as a region more committed to this type of car.

Nissan LeafCatalonia will offer 42 charging points semirĂ¡pida to 400 points. In the same way install 42 fast-charging points. The measure, which seeks to encourage the growth of this market allocated 2.6 million euros in grants of up to 50 % for the installation of charging points in private areas.
