Citroen C-Aircross Concept, to replace the current C3 Picasso

Citroën C-Aircross Concept

Citroën has given the surprise a few minutes ago showing us this new prototype. It’s called Citroen C-Aircross Concept and it is expected that, when it reaches the production version, is the direct successor of the current Citroën C3 Picasso. The trademark gala continues betting for the crossover models of differentiating design, with an aesthetic sympathetic and always looking for practicality and comfort.

In a first coup of view we see that this concept inherits much of the philosophy of the Citroën C4 Cactus, a model that debuted the famous airbumps, but also many similarities with the new Citroën C3 that we met a few months ago and that has given a complete change to your previous image.

minivans traditional little by little they are losing sales, being for this reason that many manufacturers directly, they are eliminating or prefer to change your concept in for a more aesthetically SUV, which is the highest demand on the market currently. A good proof of this are the Renault Scénic or the Peugeot 3008, which have given a change very noticeable in the last generational shift. It is for this reason that the C-Aircross Concept looks like to replace the C3 Picasso.

Its dimensions are 4,15 metres in length, 1,74 width and 1.63 of height. When you arrive at the market this model will have the objective of fighting vehicles such as the Renault Capture, the Nissan Juke, the Opel Mokka X and with the myriad of new models that have arrived in this B-segment-SUV. But, for a moment, whatthese were no longer the rivals of the Citroën C4 Cactus? We recall that the C4 Cactus is based on the C3 of the previous generation and that their dimensions are quite similar to those of this prototype. What will happen then with the C4 Cactus? Does it also die? Yet it is difficult to know something for sure.

Aesthetically we see a fine and elevated grill that is born on the tips of the logo of the French brand, and dies in the narrow lights of day-lighting. The bumper, of large size and rounded shape, including the main lighting of the vehicle, a curious central mouth that (we) reserve the hole for the tuition, and at the bottom protections in order to give higher robustness.

The above-mentioned protections of the front over the bass of the other three sides of the Citroen C-Aircross Concept, as in wheel; very bulky, by the way. On the side we can see some wheels futuristic design, airbumps in the lower parts of the doors, A-pillar in black and C-pillar in red, white roof and roof rails in red, the cameras in place of mirrors and, most notably, elimination of the B-pillar and door opening rear inverted. The back seeks to call our attention to the form of the protections and lower the pilot lights. Here again we find many similarities with the Citroën C3.

interior also has a design of the most futuristic, although it saves many things in common with the first prototypes that we saw on the C4 Cactus for several years now, and which subsequently were introduced in the model as are the simplicity of the buttons, the shape of the screen or the seats are wide and practically without lateral support. In this case it also adds a Head-Up Display.
