A new Citroën will pay tribute to the Mehari. This time it is a vehicle purely electric, which will hit the market as a series-production model.
Citroën seems determined to to revive the spirit of the Mehari. Some weeks ago it was the Frankfurt Auto show the framework chosen to exhibit a prototype that they called Cactus M, which paid tribute to the iconic product that shined in the 1970s. But there is more, as the next few weeks macarán the debut of a new product that promises to re-pay homage the most famous cars of beach.
But this time the thing is serious, since it is a vehicle that will be produced in series, although in a limited way. The Mehari of the TWENTY-first century, which have an aesthetic rather far from the original model, you will have a mechanical, purely electrical and will be based on the Bollaré Bluesummer, a electric vehicle produced on a small scale on the ground of Citroën in Rennes, thanks to an agreement between the French brand and the Group Bollaré.
Citroën has just released a small snippet of image, but this new product will have a design inspired by the Cactus C4, C4 Picasso or the new Aircross brazilian, especially in its front.
As a step prior to your presentation, Citroën launched a campaign in the networks with the tag #electronlibre, a nod to its electric propulsion system. At the moment there is no official information, but we will not have to wait long, because his debut will take place next 9 December.
