is estimated that LG and Samsung will be the suppliers of electric batteries. Palmer suggests that the price of this electric version of the Rapide will be between 200,000 – $ 250,000 and will not have parts from Mercedes-Benz; the brand with the star has a 5% stake in the British firm. Aston Martin indicates that its production plan will be a few hundred vehicles a year. Meanwhile, already they are performing tests with several test vehicles. For the first time in its history, Aston Martin will have an electric vehicle.
However, the Rapide is only the first step on the path of “electrification”, as the company has plans to introduce a pure electric version in the model DBX, but is not expected to happen until 2020 or 2021 . This particular prototype shown in Geneva this year, will initially have in 2019 a plug-in hybrid propulsion system, which will be followed by a version of combustion, and finally the electric version.
