Dakar 2016 continues to make progress and we already reached the stage number 11 of this edition. It has been run between the towns argentine La Rioja and San Juan in a stage with a total of 712 kilometres of the route. Of these, 431 have been the special on sandy terrain with a lot of fesh-fesh, but also with some areas of gravel and stones, where the speed has been present.
only there are still two more stages to the end of the Dakar 2016. In the bike race Toby price is the favorite, while in the quads there is no doubt that one of the hermanos Patronelli wins the victory. Peterhansel is the virtual leader in car with his Peugeot, but an error or a fault could give to the fret with the victory, despite the fact that Al-Attiyah is in second at more than 50 minutes. Gerard de Rooy also has a good mattress in the truck category, and it seems that you do not want to risk too much.
In the category of bikes today have lived the abandonment of Paulo Gonçalves, that during some stages was one of the riders with options to win the Dakar 2016, the only hope for Honda after the abandonment of Barreda. Gonçalves yesterday was penalized and is now lost, although the most serious has been the fall that has suffered, having to be assisted by the medical services and leaving definitively the Dakar 2016. The French Antoine Meo has made a stage spectacular, followed by 8 seconds on the overall leader, Toby Price. Pablo Quintanilla has been third and Viladoms it seems that peeps in the head with the ninth position today, although we don’t have any option.
brothers Patronelli don’t want to drop the leadership in the classification of quads. Alejandro has today been the winner, followed by Baragwanath and Marcos Patronelli in the third position. The argentine brothers led the general with enough time on the third, the south african who has today finished second.
In cars today, there has been a genuine duel between two team-mates Stéphane Peterhansel and Sebastien Loeb. During the different points of step the two pilots have been very close to each other, showing Loeb leader. Unfortunately, a few kilometres from the end of the special stage, Loeb has broken the transmission, and had to wait for Cyril Despres will remolcara, that he has lost time, although surprisingly not by much, finishing in second position. Nasser Al-Attiyah has been the first and Mikko Hirvonen third. Peterhansel was fourth and Nani Roma Sixth.
Gerard de Rooy has fallen today to the sixth position, although in general it maintains the leadership. It seems that the dutchman does not want to risk too much. The Kamaz of Nikolaev has been imposed, followed by the MAN of Versluis and Iveco Van Genugten. Mardeev and Sotnikov have been able to the fourth and fifth position, respectively, while the fourth Kamaz, Karginov, has entered 15th.
