Yesterday was the third stage of the Dakar Rally 2016 between Termas de Rio Hondo and Jujuy. In this stage, which is the prelude to the marathon stage today between Jujuy and Jujuy, the organization has also decided to trim 112 of 314 kilometres of special, leaving the timed section in 202 miles. A very muddy it has been the reason that the organization of the Dakar 2016 has decided to shorten the special.
This has turned out to be a very quick, where the navigation has not been very important. This is shown by the fact that pilots beginners with origin of the world rally championship, as Loeb, Hirvonen or Prokop have achieved good positions. The French has been second for the second consecutive time and leads now the Dakar 2016 in his year debut.
Joan Barreda it was in this third stage, the stage winner in the bike category, putting the leader of the general. The good news was short-lived, as the organization imposed a penalty 1 minute for speeding in an area controlled by radar, leaving him seventh on the stage 3 and third overall. Gerard Farrés was 7th and Txomin Arana 11th, while Laia Sanz came in the finish line in 18th position after losing time due to a slight fall.
In quads there are very few differences in the time and the south african Baranwanath took the stage between Termas de Rio Hondo and Jujuy, followed by the chilean Casale and the well known Lucas Bonetto. The pilot Alejandro Patronelli, one of the favorites, has also suffered a small accident today.
In the car stage, as we have said, has returned to fall into the hands of Sebastien Loeb. For Peugeot also seems to be a good year, because Carlos Sainz was second yesterday, although a penalty of 1 minute made it back up to the post room, leaving his position to Al-Attiyah, followed by Giniel de Villiers. Nani roma crossed the finish line in 13th position.
In the category of the largest, the trucks, the Czech Kolomy was the faster wheel of his Tatra, followed by Hans Stacey, first in stage 2 and overall leader. Argentina’s Federico Villagra came on target very near the first two.
