special editions of high performance of the Ford Mustang are numerous; at least, the other side of the puddle. One of the most spectacular is the Mustang Shelby GT350 that, as we told you during the last spring, recently received a renovation to update it with new colors and the introduction of a package called “Track Package” totally serial to improve its dynamics.
Until now, the Shelby GT350 has only been offered with the engine with the V8 engine of 5,200 cc with intake air that achieves a specific power exceeding 100 hp per litre, something that is not seen every day in a model without the supercharger. In total, 526 hp is sent to the rear axle, a real outrage. This version has always been marketed exclusively with manual change, although it seems that this statistic will soon change.
Even with the manual change of six speeds, the Shelby GT350 is a very fast car able to put in troubles to a good handful of supercars even when they reach the curve. Its tuning is very different to that of a Ford Mustang conventional, looking for maximum effectiveness in circuit. According to the media Jalopnik, the powerful 5.2 eight-cylinder in V may be associated to a dual clutch transmission from 2018, although it is unknown if it will have six relationships or if it will focus on seven speeds, as does the Ford GT.
if so, the brand does not introduce a change of double clutch with a configuration focused on the comfort and the smoothness of operation of the assembly, rather the opposite. As this is a car of high sportsmanship, it would be logical to change management with multiple driving modes, but more focused on the quick jump between gears and to allow the motor to turn in the “good area” of the tachometer. So, in theory it should be more rapid and effective in-circuit.
In any case, it is more than likely that the Shelby GT350 also, keep the manual change, offering the dual clutch optional.
