Dorian Boccolacci topped the year with his first victory

The season 2017 GP3 has put the finishing touch to end with a predictable victory Dorian Bocolacci, in a career that has shown that the DRS has made a huge difference in the behavior of these races compared to previous years, with much more movement and changes of position. Willing to leave again their mark, the british pilot was all out all the time and, after a quiet fifth, stormed the podium going to Alessio Lorandi in the seventh round and Steijn Schothorst a turn later. However, Ticktum completed this last manoeuvre overtaking outside the track limits in the second long straight of the circuit, so that the commissioners ended up to apply a penalty of 5 seconds in the absence of 3 laps. Schothorst tried to defend what would have been his best result of the year before a Niko Kari very first released, which had won two seats in the first round and another in the tenth to overtake Lorandi. However, the finn went from revolutions and, on the penultimate lap, tried to gain the position of the Dutch in the curve 14 with a late attack that made both touched, causing him to Schothorst a puncture terminal. The champion George Russell, who had gained a position to Lorandi and Arjun Maini on lap 10, took advantage of the situation to advance to the fourth position. He ended up in front of a Anthoine Hubert he completed four overtaking moves on the track before the incident of Kari and Schothorst to finish off a difficult year in fifth place.

In the absence of a possible sanction, Kari managed to cross the finish line in sixth place, in spite of the advancement of illegal Bruno Baptista, which was by the way out of turn 11 without lifting the foot. The brazilian ended up giving position with the Finnish, but it is not worked the same way with Arjun Maini, the other advance, which completed the points. Previously, a Baptist he had been involved in a tough battle with Lorandi, which did not stop assign positions, and with Nirei Fukuzumi, who tried to rush their options for runner-up position despite his 15th position on the grid, and went on to be tenth before a touch with Lorandi caused him to fall to the end of the order, forcing the damage to stop the Italian shortly after.
