EuroNCAP-Fiat-500X E uroNCAP, the agency evaluates the safety of vehicles marketed in the European market conducted a new round of impact tests, in which they participated several of the models launched in recent form in that market.

Among the evaluated models were found on Fiat 500X The latest crossover presented by the Italian house, the little hatchback Mazda2 and the last generation Audi TT . They obtained four star , a point below the maximum possible score, five stars.

The lack of some safety features as standard, did succeed in only four star.

The Fiat 500X failed to achieve the highest score, because some security elements are not part of the standard equipment.

And that was the case for the evaluated version: Fiat 500X 1.6 diesel ‘Pop Star’ which has no knee airbag or pelvic side airbags, while the system lacks autonomous emergency braking, which was conjugated to not being able to achieve five stars. However, I got a 86% percentage in adult occupant protection and 85% for children .

The Mazda2 was also unable to obtain the maximum score achieved, despite having achieved 86% percentage in adult occupant protection and that in the case of child occupants reached 78% . But as in the case of product Fiat, the car assessed, a Mazda 2 1.5 ‘Core’ lacked some security features that are only offered as optional, such as knee airbags The lateral pelvic airbag in the rear seats or the system of autonomous emergency braking.

The Audi TT as well had to settle 4 star evaluated because version A Audi TT 2.0TFSI ‘Sport’, FWD does not have knee airbag nor thorax and head airbags in the rear seats or autonomous braking system emergency. As for adult occupant protection achieved a percentage of 81%, but in child protection falls to 61% because the small squares rear does not serve to mount a child seat with ISOFIX .
