The Italian brand Fiat will take advantage of the Geneva motor show, which is about to start, to launch a limited edition of its new roadster, the 124 Spider. This edition responds to the name of Fiat 124 Spider America, and pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the car on which it is inspired, or with whom it shares its name, the Fiat 124 in the 60’s.
In the 80’s, the old 124 Spider received a special edition that homenajeaba 50 years of the legendary Pininfarina. This edition of America today, that will be a with only 124 units and will only be offered in Italy, has been inspired by that and hence the exterior color “bronze magnetic”, the housings of the exterior mirrors in silver or trimmed interiors in the elegant tobacco.
Optionally, it may include two accessories created by Mopar as are the tires on specific 17 inch that we see in the picture of the header and a rear luggage rack to increase the load capacity. For its part, in the interior, in addition to upholstered in brown tobacco also features a commemorative plaque and numbered of the concrete unit.
The Fiat 124 Spider America will have four packages designed to increase the equipment of the model, such as: “pack visibility” with headlights full LED adaptive light sensor and rain; “pack radio” with 7” screen, Wi-Fi and bluetooth; “pack Bose” with nine speakers, four of them integrated in the headrests; in addition to the “pack Premium” that brings with browser, reverse camera and keyless entry system.
To all of the above are in addition to the standard equipment, as are four airbags, climate control manual, MP3 radio with USB port, leather steering wheel and cruise control, among others.
The 124 Spider America keeps the engine 1.4 four-cylinder with supercharging. Develops 140 hp and 240 Nm, which are then sent to the rear axle, passing through a manual gearbox, while from October there will also come a change automatic 6-speed transmission. The top speed of this roadster is 215 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 7.5 seconds.
