SRO Motorsport Group has published the final schedule of the Blancpain GT Series ahead of the season 2017. The main novelty in relation to the provisional version of the calendar published in the shadow of the past 24 Hours of Spa has been the inclusion of a quote in the sprint in Zolder. The circuit belgian replaces as well to Zandvoort, while the Hungaroring has managed to keep his place in the contest, winning the game at the Red Bull Ring in your particular ‘battle’ for hosting the fourth test at the sprint of the season. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will close the championship.
As is almost tradition, the season kicks off with the official test event at the circuit Paul Ricard, an event will be used to prepare the first half of the season in Italy and Great Britain. While the Misano circuit and Brands Hatch will play host to the first two quotes in the sprint, Monza and Silverstone are the first two tests of the Endurance Cup. The inclusion of Zolder in the calendar at the beginning of June serves as prior of the two tests most iconic of the year, being the date of the 23rd and 24th of June chosen for the dispute of the 1,000 kilometres of the Paul Ricard.
July is focused on the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps with the test prior to the beginning of the month, and the dispute of the great event in the belgian between the days 27 and 30 of July. From there, the contest visit Hungary for its fourth race in a sprint -despite the efforts of the Red Bull Ring and the Nürburgring, which in 2017 will only have one race in the sprint instead of the two appointments which hosted this year. That means that Barcelona would be an appointment of endurance of 3 hours as a great culmination of the season of the Blancpain.
