Roberto Merhi has completed the first kilometres on the Oreca-Nissan 05 LMP2 team Manor. The Spanish rider has been the great protagonist of the private test carried out by the team this Thursday at Rockingam and that has served to test this second frame, as Oreca was not able to finish in time their mounting face to the Prologue of the WEC Paul Ricard. As it is logical, have also been uploaded to the second LMP2 team Richard Bradley and Matt Rao, the two riders that will accompany Roberto Merhi throughout the season 2016 for the World Endurance (WEC).
With this test conducted by Bradley, Rao and Merhi on a wet asphalt, Manor retrieves the lost time after only appearing in Paul Ricard with the Oreca-Nissan 05 #44, since this second chassis was delivered to the last hour of this test at the French track. However, it was also a way of giving miles to the pilots and especially to Roberto Merhi who is up for the first time in the Oreca. All in all, the team looks ready for his debut in the WEC, which will take place in the 6 Hours of Silverstone on April 17.
despite not being the best situation to accumulate experience by the conditions of the track, you could say that Roberto Merhi has made a master’s degree in LMP2 in just a few weeks. It should be remembered that the pilot of castellón tested during the test organised by Dunlop at MotorLand LMP2 team Greaves Motorsport, or what is the same, took the Gibson-Nissan 015S and the Ligier-Nissan JS P2, being able to make a comparison between the two and understanding the differences in relation to the chassis Oreca in WEC this year.
