The calendar of the Blancpain GT Series live with the 24 Hours of Spa in a change of trend. The resolution of the season is accelerating and in a little over a month with two appointments to the Sprint and a resistance closes the event with all its winners and losers. For this reason, it is important to monitor all drivers and teams that come up with real options to win the Blancpain Sprint Cup, while the Hungaroring and Nurburgring will dictate the sentence. By way of summary, and unless last-minute surprises, everything makes indicate that the title will be decided between six GT3 from five different manufacturers.
The first car to follow is the Mercedes #84 Maximilian Buhk and Franck Perera. The pair of drivers has the direct support of Mercedes-AMG in the structure of HTP Motorsport and that has brought them to lead the Blancpain GT Cup with 49 points. In this aspect, the pair won the Qualifying Race and the main race at Misano and since then have managed to be more regular that fast. Thanks to this, the Audi #2 from Markus Winkelhock and Will Stevens has been placed at five points, every time that the pilots of Team WRT have added a two podiums and a victory between Brands Hatch and Zolder.
The Team WRT has another candidate, the Audi #17 who share Stuart Leonard and Robin Frijns. Both add up to 42 points though they have not disputed the same tests. The fourth candidate in question is the Lamborghini #63 of Mirko Bortolotti and Christian Engelhart, who with 36 points are living their perfect weekend at Brands Hatch. The candidate of Bentley is the Continental #7 Vincent April and Steven Kane (31 points), while the stake in BMW passed by the M6 #98 Jesse Krohn and Markus Paltalla (24 points). The Audi #5 and #75, as well as the Mercedes #90 of Dani Juncadella still can get caught up in the struggle, but it must shine in Hungary.
