Another piece of the puzzle of the grill for the season 2017 has snapped into place. Force India has confirmed that Esteban Ocon will take from next year on the square that leaves free Nico Hülkenberg (the German will leave at the end of the year, the team angloindia with destination to Renault). The French of 20 years, which currently run to Manor, has signed a multi-year contract, of a duration not fixed, and will be partner of the mexican Sergio Perez.
Esteban Ocon, which was already the test driver for the team angloindio in 2016, it has been shown excited at the prospect of his first full season and grateful to Manor, (team with which he has contested the last seven grand prizes) as to Mercedes for the support provided.
I’m very, very excited. I am well aware of the team because I was a test pilot last year and I’m looking forward to working with everyone at Silverstone again. I Am relatively new to Formula 1, but for half a season at Manor Racing has provided me a valuable experience and I feel ready for this opportunity. My intention is to make full use of it and give the team the results that you expect of me. The coming months will be very hard, with many days in the factory, working in the simulator and building relationships with engineers, but it is something for which I worked all life and I want to express my gratitude to the Manor, and especially to Mercedes for their support and for having believed in me.
