Ford Focus ST 2015

are Not doing bad things to the new Ford Focus ST, commercially speaking. Since the arrival of the range in 2015, with engine EcoBoost petrol 250 HP and diesel 185 CV, sales of the compact sports have been bent. Ford has sold in Europe nothing less than 10,000 units between January and October 2015, and it has been good to blame the novelty of the diesel engine.

In fact, 46% of the Focus ST sold during this year have been diesel, which explains this increase in sales, since previously the Focus ST is only offered with gasoline engine. And soon there will be a new addition to strengthen even more the range: Ford Focus ST diesel with a change of PowerShift.

change automatic PowerShift will be available only in combination with the diesel engine 2.0 TDCi 185 HP. This is a modern change of double clutch and six relations, with the possibility of manual operation -changing gear via the paddles placed behind the wheel – or fully automatic.

In this latter case, the Sport mode power sport driving, going up automatically to a higher gear to an engine speed higher, and taking advantage of the engine brake during the braking when you downshift.

The benefits also improve with respect to the manual gearbox, in need of 0.4 seconds less to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h -in 7,7 seconds – with this change PowerShift. On the other hand, the average consumption approved of the Focus ST PowerShift diesel is 4.6 liters/100 km, with CO2 emissions of 119 g/km, so that you will be exempt from paying registration tax.

Ford Focus ST 2.0 TDCi Powershift will be available at the beginning of 2016, both in body five-door as the family Sportbreak, at prices that still have not been communicated, but which will be slightly higher than in versions equivalent with manual switch.
