Ford will create a new technology center in India

Ford EcoSport 2015Ford Motor Company is one of the few car manufacturers that bet worldwide, for selling the same model in all markets in which it is present with minimum changes. Until relatively recently did so as well, however since I started saving in costs of development and manufacturing, he discovered that he could sell the same car in two markets with different tastes without having to invest in expensive accommodations.

Thanks to this way of working now we share the same Ford Mondeo and Fusion both in Europe and in the united States. Other models that follow this same philosophy are the Ford EcoSport and the new Ka+. However, and although the signing of the oval is doing more than fine, in some other model doesn’t just give the key to be a success in all the markets it is sold.

Ford KA+ 2016This is what has happened with the way everything urban EcoSport. This model has been a real best seller in India and Brazil, countries to which it was aimed initially. However, in his eagerness to continue to grow in the market of SUVS, Ford decided to transform it and sell it in other markets like the european one. However this transformation has not had the expected success in Europe.

The reason was that their manufacture was set up in India and the finishes of the model were more righteous. After taking this error the brand decided to move european production to the city of Craiova (Romania). However, Ford remains committed to India as one of their development centers and most important and it is sales that you get in this market are very succulent.

To do this, the brand will invest $ 195 million over the next five years to create a new business and technology center in the city of Chennai, south India. It will develop new models, products, services and design solutions for future mobility. This center will work to other three thousand people that will join the twelve thousand that will begin to work at another facility that is scheduled for the year 2019.
