Four turbos and 400 HP of power diesel for the new BMW M550d xDrive

The BMW M550d xDrive Touring you receive a diesel engine of 3.0-liter with 400 HP. It is a diesel version of the 5 Series with bodywork sedan or family member signed by M Performance.

BMW broadcast the first images and official information about the new BMW M550d xDrive, the most recent member of the family of ‘M’ from BMW, which in this occasion comes with a diesel engine of 3.0 liters, four turbos and 400 CV of power, with a maximum torque of 760 Nm, which is combined with an automatic eight-speed transmission.

Two of the turbo compressors are low pressure and work in a permanent way, while the high-pressure come into operation from 2,500 rpm. Its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 4.4 seconds in the case of the body-sedan, while the Touring is 4.6 seconds and a maximum speed in both cases is limited to 250 km/h.

In terms of the fuel consumption approved, the figures are 5,9 l/100 km for the sedan and 6.2 l/100 km for the Touring.

In terms of its external appearance, the BMW M550d xDrive receives the typical treatment of ‘M’ which includes bumpers, specific design, rear diffuser, side skirts and rear spoiler in the case of the sedan, in addition to brake calipers in blue, alloy wheels of 19 inches, double output exhaust, etc

The interior includes sports seats, upholstery in Alcantara, trim in aluminium, sports steering wheel lined in leather, pedals in aluminum, window sills illuminated with an inscription ‘M550d’ etc

For the moment, BMW has not, in addition to providing more details about the new BMW M550d xDrive, as ai nor what will be its price, although the 82.000 euros sedan M550i are a good indicator of what to expect.
