The historic French Grand Prix prepares to return to the calendar of Formula 1 in 2018, as announced by the French daily L’equipe.
it Is expected the announcement for the second week of December and the event will be organized at the circuit Paul Ricard, until now mostly limited to days of test. According to the information published, the local authorities of the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’azur, Var, and Toulon support the agreement, that would be of five years duration from 2018.
Currently, France has the Renault team, as the representation, in addition to Romain Grosjean, Esteban Ocon and various sponsors. If it is finally confirmed the agreement, Formula 1 would return to the calendar after ten years of absence, with the race in 2008 at Magny Cours as the last appointment. Paul Ricard has already hosted Major Awards between 1971 and 1990.
