Pierre Gasly is the current leader of the GP2 Series, tied to
points with Sergey Sirotkin. In his third year in the category, Gasly
is finally leaving behind the problems that it had in the two
previous seasons, emphasizing order as is expected of him in the
dome of Red Bull.
Toro Rosso has Carlos Sainz confirmed for 2017, but the
second seat is still vacant and it shall be for Daniil Kvyat, or the
own Gasly. The first one should give back to
extremely complicated in that it is being surpassed by
the bad results, , while the second has to validate his
best performance with the title in GP2.
In statements to GPUpdate, Pierre Gasly claims that its objective
for the next season is to get, once and for all, the
post-holder in Toro Rosso. “The goal is clear: I want to
to be in Formula 1 next year, to get the seat in
Toro Rosso. I’m giving the best of myself to achieve this and,
so far, I’m doing well. It is important to keep the
leadership in the championship of GP2), to show Red Bull that I am
ready and I’m going to fight for it”.
The key is, be consistent in GP2
The key of all this happens by continue performing at a high level in
GP2, a category that demands a lot from every pilot due to their complexity and
great competitiveness. “to Be here (in GP2) requires a lot of energy and
you have to focus on the important things. It is that will make the
difference for the coming year, so I need to put all my
effort into it, then we’ll see what happens”, ” says Gasly.
The French rider, who was runner-up in the Formula Renault
3.5 belonging to the World Series, says he is completely
ready to take on the challenge of debuting in Formula 1, ensuring
“if you get the phone call, I am prepared for everything.
I know that Helmut (Marko) see all races of GP2, knows when it
I do well and when I commit some errors, sees everything”, ends
saying Gasly at the head of the youth program
pilots of Red Bull, and who, ultimately, makes the decision
on all decisions concerning them.
