McLaren will not be moved from its usual site in the first free practice sessions in the Red Bull Ring. The british team remained bordering the top 10, with times relatively uniform, and will seek to aspire again to the points after the two zeros obtained in Canada and Baku.

Fernando Alonso finished the first batch of the day in the 14th position, but found more tenths in the second to edge the 1:08 and reached the 11th place. The pilot spaniard wanted to highlight that today’s results are at all indicative of what can happen on Saturday:

“we Can draw fewer conclusions that other Friday because we have had less track time, the same for all. we will Try to improve everything possible ahead of tomorrow, we have done quite a few tests, so now you have to put them on the table and choose what best for the rest of the weekend”.

Alonso passed the new surface to the Red Bull Ring, reasfaltada at the beginning of this year, and also with the way in which your car has adapted to the same. It also believes that the team must be alert in order to take advantage and gain an advantage before a rain in areas of partial circuit as of today.

“I like the new track surface is very smooth and there are no potholes. We have been able to exploit the grip, which has been pretty good. This afternoon, we had the opportunity to ride on the track after the rain, the circuit only took 30 minutes to dry enough to put the dry tyres. I Think we need to be ready and focused for any opportunity if it rains on Sunday as he has done this afternoon. We should try to take advantage of it”.

Jenson Button he finished just ahead of his teammate in both sessions: 13th in the morning and 10th in the afternoon, to more second-and-a-half times of Nico Rosberg. The british champion stressed the new complexity of the curves of the circuit, but is confident in the chances of the team making a good classification:

“Even with the new asphalt, changes cámber in the curves make driving here is complicated. In addition, there are many pianos large and spacious that you can use, but wear out the soil, which makes it difficult for all”.

“We have used three compounds to dry today, and even I think (the decision on) the tires go better in the race is a little up in the air. Then, in the intermediate, we were one of the faster cars, which was positive. There are many fast cars out there, so it will be hard for us to get into Q3 tomorrow, but there’s rain scheduled for the rest of the weekend, it should give us some opportunities useful”.
