GP Bahrain: mixed Feelings for Red Bull in qualifying

The classification of the Bahrain Grand Prix has left a very different situation for the two pilots of Red Bull. Despite being in a scenario, a priori, harsh to the RB12, Daniel Ricciardo knew how to prolong your state of grace and put the car in the fifth position of the grid after a superb lap in Q3, which allowed him to beat the two Williams. For Red Bull, was also a surprise, according to what declared by the australian: “I Am very happy with the result today. Nor we expected to be fifth, especially from my side of the garage, since yesterday was not so well and this morning was also not great.

“we Started the ranking, thinking that, if all went well, maybe we could get into Q3, so that fifth is great. I Am happy with the laps we have done, the changes that we did from the Free 3 they worked well for us in qualy, and I am excited about what that might bring to the race tomorrow”.

The story was very different in the case of Daniil Kvyat. The Russian pilot had a qualifying to forget, being the first eliminated from Q2 and will start from the 15th position. Kvyat not attributed to an error of the team, if not to a lack of performance on the part of the car: “it was Not like we were planning. Our timing for the session was not bad, but we simply had no rhythm whatsoever. From our side of the garage, there was something missing when it struck sort, I don’t know exactly what it is now, but it is not where I want to be”.

The Russian pilot shot in acceptable times on Friday, but the feelings were worse as they went along to the sessions. “The Free 1 went well and we showed a good pace. Free 2 and 3 were not very bad, but in qualifying we were quite lost. I don’t know what happened, but we will check it and try to turn the situation for the race tomorrow”.
