GP Belgium: Force India feels like a fish in the water in the Spa


Force India enjoys when it comes to Spa-Francorchamps. Equipped with a power unit Mercedes, the VJM09 adapts perfectly to the demands of the plot belgian, something that has been able to verify during the first two free practice sessions. Both Sergio Perez as Nico Hülkenberg have been shot at times very fast under almost any circumstances and in FP2 both have been cast among the five best rated. Sergio Perez finished fifth in the two sessions free in Belgium, and although the level and performance of his car is well above that shown in other appointments, the mexican still recognizes that it has a long way to go: The first feelings are positive, but there is still much work to be done in the car to solve some small problems that we had. We have to understand the balance of the car a little more and develop our tuning on the basis of these data”.

Nico Hülkenberg was quite happy with the day of Friday, every time the German completed the program of work proposed by the team without a hitch, and all with a rhythm very promising, as acknowledged by the pilot: Was a good start after the summer holidays. We did not have any problem and we have been able to complete all of the work that we had foreseen in our program. We’ve collected the usual data and we have taken some steps very good between the two sessions of free“.

In this aspect, which has been a prominent Hülkenberg is the progression that has gotten the team throughout the day, being especially insistent on this point: “I was not very happy with the balance of the car during the morning, but we were able to improve by the afternoon. Still it is not all perfect, so there is a little work to do during this afternoon and this evening. We will try to use the information that we have obtained today to take another step forward, but we’re at a decent starting point“.
