GP Belgium: Rosberg and Hamilton, opposite poles on the grid at the Spa

Mercedes failed to meet expectations. With Lewis Hamilton racking up 55 posts of penalty for changing your unit of power almost to the full on two occasions, Nico Rosberg took the opportunity to score the pole position despite the push of the local boy Max Verstappen. That draws a race very different for both drivers as Rosberg will have all of the face starting from the first position of the grill and Hamilton must cope with a run on the counter from the last square. Face and cruz assumed responsibility for the only two contenders to the title of the Formula 1 this season.

despite being in his words ‘out of rhythm’ during free practice, Nico Rosberg picked up a pole position, something that has not changed the discourse of German pilot: We have had a weekend difficult until now, especially this morning we were off the pace over a lap. It was not easy to enter into the classification, but in the end we did a good job. We have made quite a few changes in the set-up of the car before the classification and when all were gathered together the car felt good. I am very happy for that”.

the Most outstanding of its rate prior to that of the own lap that has given him the pole position (1:46.744) or his great record in Q2 with rubber stockings, Rosberg noted: “we Simply were not fast. The temperatures and the high pressures of the Pirelli paint a new world. We had to change things and adapt”. Looking for a moment to the race this Sunday, Rosberg said: “it’s Going to be a test very difficult, the tires are extremely delicate this weekend. Max will come with superblandos and Kimi with soft, so everything can happen. It will not be easy”.

Lewis Hamilton had assumed their destination after the various sanctions received, and so little more that it has completed a lap in 1:50.0 for meet record and return to the box, something that has not prevented analysis of the reality of the classification: “we’re Not the fastest here with so much ease. The other teams seem to have more pace and because of the temperature we have the worst of sensations. Was a qualifying session strange for me, the most important thing today was the FP3 and the car is ok for tomorrow, so it was about finding the path with the car”.

“we Know that our best tires are the middle and the soft, because the superblando hard after turns explains Hamilton in relation to his possible strategy, and then add: “we’re All going to have massive degradation, will live two or three stops tomorrow. I do not know who will take better care of their tyres. we’re All struggling the same, is a scenario uncomfortable and we tried to do everything possible to set up the car and be prepared for tomorrow, from our position of check out. I can Not say anything about our plan, because not even we know”.
