GP Malaysia: Jenson Button scores, but is left with wanting more

For the third time this season, McLaren has finished in the points with his two-seater. The major improvements to the Honda engine in the last few months have begun to show consistently in the Big Prizes, and the comeback of Fernando Alonso, which became the 22nd and last place to the seventh position, are clear evidence of this. Jenson Button, for his part, completed a solid weekend, always among the first 10.

The british driver finished the race in the same position in which you started, the ninth, but the 2009 champion stayed with the sinsabor to have been able to get more points, after they reached placed fourth at the start and finish sixth in the first round.

Eventually, lost several positions, in particular by a Virtual Safety Car that came out after he stopped in the pits, as he himself explains in the official communication of the team:

“My career has not gone so bad, I have even been room in the output before a couple of cars I went ahead on the first lap. but I had bad luck with the Virtual Safety Car. The cars behind me were going on a strategy to three stops and I was going to two. Three laps after that I stopped, has left the Virtual Safety Car, and allowed them to earn 15 seconds for free“.

Coupled with some setbacks in the last few meetings, Button asserts that it has not been very fortunate in recent Major Awards, and trust that the best way to McLaren to finish this season, and that could be his last Formula 1 races, with a positive note:

The strategy of two stops was the best today, but it is difficult to operate everything when there is a VSC, I was looking for the seventh place at that time. it Is a pity, but the luck has not been on my part in the last races. I hope to have a little more in the last five races“.
