GP of Spain of F1 2017: Results of the free practice sessions

McLaren-Honda McL32

Begins Friday with the first two sessions of the GP Spain F1 2017. Both sessions have been transcended without too many changes or anything out of the ordinary, to say this with the situation that we have lived it is sad, but it is still the tonic with McLaren-Honda. The fans, like the riders, they don’t know what to expect of Honda, when not fault one thing fails another and not head up. It is frustrating for fans and all those who work in the project, but until Canada is not expected to an evolution on the part of the japanese.

McLaren-Honda has rolled today a little, no novelty. All the improvements we brought to this GP of Spain have not been able to test due to lack of mileage, and after seen in Russia we expected something more. It seems that the used engine that he rode Alonso had some new parts that were tested, but he has not lasted too long. The car, Alonso said simply in a very obvious, and the image that has given the team when the crane removed the car was depressing when the car was spewing out literally large amounts of oil for the break. All this lack of reliability that prevents it from rolling, together with the excessive consumption and the lack of uppercase performance… it’s A disaster!

Mejoras bargeboard Mercedes para GP de España

After the bad experience of the first session, in the free 2 has not much improved the situation, with Alonso shooting late and little, being last. At least his team mate has not been so bad, doing some times decent, similar to the Force India. Honestly I’ve been a lot of time waiting for a good car to Alonso, since 2007, when it was McLaren has not returned to have one good enough, and already 10 years ago that. I don’t know that to expect more, and the situation starts to be unfortunate for him and for the team. There will be forget about until you see the new improvements and think more in the Indy 500 as does Fernando…

Well, leaving behind the negativism, talking about the rest of the grill, which unfortunately has not been as protagonist due to all these woes. Red Bull has also had some problems, and Ferrari has not escaped the mechanical problems, although they have been able to roll more, solving the problems quickly. Both teams have brought improvements, especially in the middle area of the car, but also some on the flat bottom in the case of the Maranello. But the one that has excelled over all it has been Mercedes, which brought improvements in the ICE, MGU-K, MGU-H, and quite aerodynamic, with a few eye-catching bargeboards never seen before. What if they worked? Since you seem to have gained a few tenths and see if they have distanced themselves from Ferrari tomorrow and Sunday.

Morning I hope better results for Carlos Sainz Jr., to see if it gives us a good qualifying and a good race to the Spanish fans. McLaren-Honda better not to say anything and wait, because not much can make or wishes on them. Just to wish you luck and see how it goes on this fantastic home race at the sunny circuit that has freed itself from some rains that are allowing themselves to be seen by some parts of Spain. The classification will be more accurate when assessing all the significant improvements that brought almost all the teams here, the first GP on european soil, and in this circuit where truly put to the test the car in all his senses by its characteristics of straight, curved, fast and slow,…. Tomorrow we will continue telling what happened in free practice 3 and qualifying, doing the same thing on Sunday with the race. Until then good luck and happy day!
