it’s Not been an easy season for Renault in its return as the official team of the Formula 1. The seventh-placed Kevin Magnussen in the Grand Prix of Russia was until now the lean balance achieved by the team gala disputed fourteen races. But, in Singapore, the pilot Danish has put an end to the drought with an unexpected but creditable tenth position.

Magnussen was the foundation of the result with an exit star from the eighth row of the grid that allowed him to roll in the top ten during the greater part of the race. In the end, eight seconds he broke away from novena square occupied by the Toro Rosso of Daniil Kvyat. The Danish was completely satisfied with his own performance and that of the team, that considered going to be “a great boost”.

year Is a very demanding, because we want to score points in all the races, but until now it has not been possible. However, we are still fighting and this result shows that we do not quit. The team has nailed the strategy, the output and the balance of the monopaza. It makes me unlikely to have made a career and don’t win it, because my feeling is that it has been perfect.

Less fortunate was Jolyon Palmer, who suffered a puncture slow as a result of scattered debris on the track after the accident of Hülkenberg at the start and had to anticipate his first pit stop. Out-of-sequence, the british could not go beyond the fifteenth square, ahead of only the Manor and the Sauber of Ericsson.

Nothing has left me well today.
I had to go early for the pit lane, and that forced me to the relay later
they were longer and to look after the tyres more than they would have been necessary
with the length of the releases that we had planned, more balanced. The only thing
positive is that we have seen that scoring is within our reach if things us
out well
, and those are my expectations for Sepang.
