Force India gave a positive result in the classification for the Grand Prix of Spain. Sergio Perez has managed to pass to Q3 and it has been done with the ninth on the starting grid, while Nico Hülkenberg will start from the eleventh position after having been only a hundredth of access to the round final.
positions, according to the deputy director of the team angloindia, Robert Fernley, they offer the team a good chance to score good points that come to compensate for the little fortune they have enjoyed so far.
“the Whole team has worked extremely hard to have the new aero package and we have been able to reap the fruits with our performance today; this result, in one of the most demanding circuits, and where the prevailing aerodynamic efficiency, is excellent, and our starting positions give us a good opportunity to score and indemnify us of the bad luck we had in previous races”.
Sergio Perez was pleased with his performance in a circuit which, as pointed out by “traditionally it has been difficult for us,”, and hoped to consolidate his position among the top ten, something it considers essential to contain the riders that will depart right behind with new tires.
“I Believe we will be strong and we start from a good position on a track that is never easy to overtake; in the first relay, the car that I got behind with new tires will be a threat, but I hope to make a good start, to stay ahead and get a good number of points to reward the efforts the team has done recently”.
, Nico Hülkenberg regretted to have been so close go to Q3 (time 1:24:203, very close to the 1:24:192 Fernando Alonso) and, although he stressed that he has not finish to be pleased with the renovated VJM09, believes that the strategy may open the doors to a better result in the race.
”it is Always disappointing to stay out of Q3 by one hundredth, but from from the post 11 gives me the opportunity to explore the strategic options and able to choose which compound of tyre to the first relay; I still don’t feel completely comfortable with the car, although improvements in general have worked well, but for tomorrow I’m optimistic because my long runs have been consistent and I think I have a good opportunity to score some points”.
