Grand Prix of Great Britain: Results of the free practice sessions

Mercedes F1 en SIlverstoneStarts the Great Britain GP F1 2016 under the threat of rain. Today it has not rained during the two free practice sessions, but will be pending what happens tomorrow and Sunday, to see if the rain puts a little more excitement to this race, although I have the intuition that will be interesting even without the intervention of the weather. Although above things remain the same, with Mercedes favorite and willing to make another double if nothing happens.

In this circuit, due to the fast corners, the aerodynamics seems to have done something more important, even though it’s a medium downforce circuit. That’s why we’ve seen a Red Bull strong enough and everything seems to indicate that might be the morning after the Mercedes, although we will have to wait for the third session of free, and especially to the classification, as today is a Friday. But the times that have made the team of energy drinks seems to be very good, as the of the Mercedes.

Toro Rosso 2016Ferrari, therefore, falls. Normally I always used to criticize the statements of Marc Gené, that induced the data handled within the team of Maranello, always makes a statement somewhat optimistic if we compare them with the reality. We have seen the Spanish many times confident of the superiority or confidence in making pole when then they are the second or third team with luck. But today, have not even sin of optimistic seen as seen with the Red Bull, so I opt for filling the positions 5th and 6th for tomorrow.

In regards to the spaniards, I hope they go better than in the sessions of the last GP in Australia, where both had serious reliability problems. Fernando Alonso has been in today to 1.3 s of the head, a time good enough, and in the first session has ended and also near above, despite using medium tyres while some of the ahead of me had used soft tyres when the track was already something better. Therefore, be optimistic for qualifying and the race if reliability allows it (especially taking into account that the engine is new with two tokens that you have invested in Honda to improve intake and gain a few horses).

We are aware of all the developments towards the end of the week. On all pending issues that today has had Rosberg and that have prevented him from rolling over, and see if it will affect the morning sessions. And see if Hamilton and Rosberg does not again make your own… on the other hand, it seems that the market of pilots is gradually closing, as we said that Sergio, Hülkenberg will remain in Force India, the two pilots Toro Rosso and Red Bull, Haryanto seems to have gotten the money to stay and now it seems that Kimi Räikkönen gets a Ferrari for 2017. Even uncertainty with Button and Massa.
